Microcannulas are growing in popularity and are considered a superior method to effectively deliver dermal fillers to your patients. Safer than needles, blunt-tipped cannulas only use a single entry point and glide smoothly under the skin without cutting nerves and vessels. Resulting in greater patient satisfaction, microcannulas deliver dermal fillers with virtually no bruising, diminished swelling, considerably reduced pain, and less risks of more serious complications (necrosis / blindness / vascular issues). In addition, the blunt-tip cannulas may also stimulate collagen production because of the nature of the technique used. This advanced, hands-on workshop will teach you how to properly evaluate patients, diagnose and treatment plan for microcannula enhancements. Participants will learn various cannula injection techniques and understand when the application is advantageous to optimize aesthetic cases. You will also gain an understanding of the different sizes and types of microcannulas that are made for a variety of dermal fillers and injection depths that can be used for superficial injections to deep injections.
*Workshop Prerequisite: Attendees of this workshop must be experienced injectors with a minimum of 6 months continuous injecting experience with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.

Anatomical knowledge is fundamental to becoming a highly skilled, safe injector. The Facial Injectables Cadaver Workshop provides the highest level of anatomical training to expand your repertoire of facial injectables. Working in small groups, participants will dissect cadaver faces to identify pertinent anatomy (muscular structures, fat pads, dermal depths) and learn correct injection techniques to avoid complications and adverse effects. This hands-on workshop, exclusively at the 2021 IAFA Aesthetic Symposium, will give participants a high level understanding of the essential anatomy of the face as it pertains to facial injectables.
The cadaver workshop will begin with an interactive pre-dissection lecture featuring expert guided markings on mannequin heads.Participants will also receive a cadaver workbook to fully guide them through the workshop, serving as an excellent post workshop review.

Vessels, relevant muscles and bony structures are easily seen and can be avoided. The volume and type of injectable can also be determined and injectables already in situ can be assessed. This course will train the attendee how to use ultrasound in filler application, assess facial anatomy and understand vascular mapping.

Cancellation of the IAFA 2021 Symposium must be made in writing and sent by US mail (address below) to be received at the IAFA meeting management office no later than October 1, 2021. Workshop cancellations will incur a $350 cancellation processing fee. No other refunds or future credit will be available after 10/01/2021. Cancellation by phone or email will not be accepted. The Cadaver Dissection workshop scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2021, is a non-refundable registration fee.
